Ruffner Mountain does not receive county, state, or federal funding. As a 1,038 acre urban nature preserve near the heart of Birmingham, Alabama, support from individuals like you is vital. As a non-profit organization, your donation provides essential funding to support a range of critical operations including trail and facilities upkeep, conservation initiatives, ongoing restoration and land management, wildlife care and monitoring, and nature-based programming.
If you are not a member and you make a donation of at least $250 you will automatically receive our highest level of membership and be considered a Donor Member. All donation amounts are welcome, however one time donations under $250 will not be eligible for donor membership.
If you visit Ruffner Mountain frequently, but are not able to make a donation greater than $250, supporting through one of our membership levels might be right for you. By signing up and becoming a member, you will receive a yearly parking permit that grants you free access to the preserve and facilities. Click here to learn more about membership.

WHY SHOULD YOUR BUSINESS SUPPORT RUFFNER?
People love public green spaces a lot. In fact, visitors to Ruffner Mountain have doubled to 75,000 and each of these 75,000 visitors spends an average of 4-5 hours in Ruffner per visit.
And while having more visitors leads to a more vibrant community, funding for the associated costs of maintenance, safety, and operations is limited, difficult, and decreasing.
We need businesses to increase giving by $250,000 through corporate support.

THE HABITAT GARDEN CLUB
Join us as we expand our Habitat Demonstration Gardens. Learn more about the wildlife benefits of native plants while sharpening your gardening skills! Tasks include garden bed prep, planting, transplanting, weeding, and site cleanup. Habitat Garden Club meets every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in front of the Nature Center.
THE RUFFNER TRAIL TEAM
Help to maintain existing trails on the mountain. This opportunity is best for individual volunteers who are active and interested in physically demanding work and learning more about how to build the best hiking and walking trails possible.
Due to staffing limitations, Ruffner Mountain will not be accepting volunteer groups at this time.
