How to Become a Volunteer

Here at the Jefferson County Greenways Coalition, a central part of our mission is to create opportunities for people to gain exposure to the joys of giving back. Whether through a public volunteer opportunity or a private workday for your organization, we want to partner with you to make a significant and positive difference here in Jefferson County. To be kept up to date with our programs, events, and volunteer opportunities, you can sign up for our monthly newsletter.

• Individual Volunteering: Our public volunteer opportunities are the best way for individuals, families, or small groups of friends to get connected with our greenspaces. To sign up for any of our public volunteer opportunities, please submit an application through VolunteerLocal, our volunteer software platform. Once you click the “Complete Application” button at the bottom of the application, you will receive an email confirming your application. Once this is all complete, you will be able to refresh your webpage to see our current public volunteer opportunities. You can also view these current opportunities and their descriptions by visiting our Individual Volunteering tab or Calendar page!

• Group Volunteering: We have an ongoing list of volunteer needs at each site, so if you or your organization would like to discuss a private volunteer event at one or more of our three greenspaces, we’d be more than happy to try to accommodate. To submit a request for your group to volunteer, please head over to our Group Volunteering tab. We will try our best to respond back to you within 1 to 3 business days!
