Light up your summer evening at Ruffner Mountain as we hike along the Pipeline Trail in search of fireflies! You will enjoy an approximately 2-mile round-trip hike from the Eastern Trailhead to the Wetlands. Along the way, we will enjoy the magical light of the fireflies, and search for other nocturnal creatures, such as owls, millipedes, and moths. We may even see some synchronous fireflies!
This hike is approximately 2 miles round-trip with little to no elevation change. Please bring water, sturdy close-toed footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and headlamps/flashlights. UV lights are also encouraged so we can look for phosphorescent creatures.
Please park at the Eastern Trailhead, but do not block the gate. Additional parking can be found in the gravel lot across the street.
