Join us at Red Mountain Park for “Go Tell it on Red Mountain,” an engaging exploration of Birmingham's mining history and the lives of those who resided and worked on Red Mountain. The event will feature a panel discussion with scholars and UAB contributors who helped shape the project. Following the discussion at the Bruno Outdoor Classroom, participants are encouraged to take a self-guided audio tour on their phones to visit key historical sites, including the Smythe Mining excavation site, and Mine #13.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own headphones to enhance the experience during the self-guided tour.
This program is generously funded by the Alabama Humanities Alliance and the University of Alabama at Birmingham College of Arts and Sciences.
