Frogs for Families is full, but we still have space available for our Guided Night Hike on July 17th! Registration and more info can be found here.
To kick off the month where Ruffner celebrates nocturnal creatures, come join us on a family-friendly frog and toad exploration hike to the Wetlands!
We will meet at the Wetlands trailhead and walk one mile to the Wetlands. We will listen and identify the frogs and toads that we hear and talk about amphibians and wildlife of Alabama. We will then walk the one mile back to our vehicles in the dark. Headlamps and flashlights are welcome (red spectrum lights when possible).
Registration and waivers are required for each participant. No pets, please.
Ruffner Mountain delivers free, ecologically-minded programming through all seasons of the year. However, each of our programs have costs associated with them, including staff time, teaching materials, and incentive items. For this reason, we humbly ask that you only register for programs that you are able to attend, and that you give us advance notice if your plans change and you are unable to attend a program.
