The ASAN Food & Farm Forum is the central annual gathering of ASAN’s statewide network of farmers, gardeners, community leaders, and good food advocates. Diverse participants from across the state will come together for a weekend of “cross-pollinating” and collaboration to build a more robust local food system throughout Alabama. You don't want to miss it!
The Forum will be held on December 7-8, 2018, at Camp McDowell in Nauvoo, AL (near the Walker/Winston County line).
The Forum is part conference, part fair, and part reunion. Portions of the Forum will be modeled after the folk tradition of the “bee,” in which community members come together to do shared work while also socializing and celebrating.
In 2018, alongside the (adult) Food & Farm Forum, for the first time ever ASAN will be holding a Youth Food & Farm Forum geared towards youth ages 14-21! The Youth Forum program will consist of 6-10 sessions on topics ranging from agricultural production, food sovereignty, community/grassroots organizing, and more.
You may register for both 2018 conferences here on ASAN’s website: https://asanonline.org/forum18/
The Alabama Sustainable Agriculture Network (ASAN) is a grassroots network of farmers, consumers, and agriculture-related organizations, all committed to promoting sustainable agriculture in Alabama.
