Daniel DeVaughn, Communications Director
Daniel is a writer, storyteller, and, when he's not at Ruffner, Co director of The Nitty Gritty Magic City Reading Series. He holds an MFA in Poetry from the University of Oregon, and has received fellowships from The Sewanee Writer's Conference, The Norman Mailer Writer’s Workshop, Vermont College of the Fine Arts, and The Vermont Studio Center. His poems have most recently appeared in The Nashville Review and Fogged Clarity, and are forthcoming from Birmingham Poetry Review and Southern Humanities Review. If you happen to be online, or use social media, there's a good chance that you've read one or more of Daniel's pithy and informative Ruffner communiqués. On fairer days, you may even see him in the actual, physical world walking the Ruffner trails snapping photos and composing florid sonnets on scraps of tree bark. A lover of music and the music of words, Daniel writes the voice of Ruffner. So if you're ever online holler at him or send along your favorite Ruffner photo!
